HHG Tutorial FAQs

Tutorial FAQ’s

Who attends your tutorial?

Families come from all over to attend HHG! Many of our families live in Franklin, Thompson’s Station, and Spring Hill, but we also have families from Nolensville, Brentwood, and Bellevue.

What kind of classes can I expect at HHG?

We try to provide a blend of academic and enrichment courses to complement what you are teaching at home. Check out our HHG Scope and Sequence to get an idea.

Do I have to sign my child up for every class?

No! You can customize your child’s class schedule to fit his or her needs and what works best for your family. Many of our students do take all of the classes, but it isn’t required.

What is expected of HHG tutorial parents?

HHG tutorial is a whole family experience. Families attend our opening chapel service from 8:30-9:00 a.m. together. Parents also return to campus to eat lunch with their children, and are responsible for their own children during lunch break, which is from 12:10-1:00. Many families bring in food from local restaurants, while others pack their lunches. A parent from each family is also required to serve as a volunteer during as many as 3 weeks during the semester. These volunteer positions vary, and include duties such as helping clean up at the end of the day, assisting the preschool teacher, coordinating missions projects, and more.

Will my child have homework?

The very youngest students don’t usually have any homework, but the expectations and homework increase with each grade. Students in middle school and high school can expect several hours of homework each week outside of class. Of course, the amount of homework will vary with each class.

How is your school year structured?

HHG tutorial meets for 14 consecutive weeks in the fall and 14 consecutive weeks in the spring. Our fall semester begins mid-August and our spring semester begins mid-January.

How do students and parents communicate with teachers and keep up with homework assignments?

We use Schoology for communication between teachers, students and parents.  You will have access to your student’s progress via smartphone, tablet or computer.  This is a convenient tool to access all of your child’s classes at once, instantly see what homework is due, what assignments might be missing, and be able to instantly and privately message teachers with questions and/or concerns. You will receive log in instructions and passwords at the beginning of the school year. Students will also receive a log in and be expected to interact with the teacher outside of class time via discussion questions, tests, and homework assignments.  Schoology is a great tool that extends our classrooms.

How do I know if HHG lines up with what my family believes?

Our tutorial is Christ-centered. From our morning chapel time throughout our classes, faith is an integral part of what we do. Please read our Statement of Faith to familiarize yourself with what we believe.

What kind of supplies will my child need for tutorial?

Most students bring a backpack with folders, binders, paper, and pencils. Each teacher will specify any particular supplies, including books, needed for that class.

How much does it cost to attend HHG?

It depends on how many classes your child takes! View our Tuition and Fees.

If I sign up for HHG, what kind of commitment am I making?

We ask families to commit to HHG for one year.
